MILL CREEK, Wash. — The countdown to Super Bowl 60 is closing in, and while the big game may be happening in California, Seahawks fans are celebrating all across Western Washington.

A Hawks gear giveaway and barbecue was hosted at Mill Creek Sports by the local paper, the Mill Creek View, for fans on Saturday afternoon.

Despite consistent rain all day, 12s rallied in the sports store’s parking lot, wrapping around the building as they waited to take home free merch.

“We happened to have a lot of extra memorabilia from the last time around, and we couldn’t think of anything better than giving it away for free to people who love to stand out in the rain and support the Seahawks,” said Corey Ihler, who runs Mill Creek View.

Fans of all ages showed up for the community event, including Andrew Scheffler, who told KOMO News he couldn’t wait for Sunday.

“It’s going to be my first ever real Super Bowl as a Seahawks fan,” he said. ” I’m super pumped!”

Other fans were still relishing the Hawks’ dominant, 14-win season, which brought the team back to the championship after more than a decade.

“It’s about time that we rock it, and we get there again,” said Christin McCauley. ” So, I’m ready. This season’s been amazing.”

The crowd chanted some of their favorite players’ names, like Sam Darnold and JSN.

Ihler also unveiled three large ice blocks filled with more Seahawks swag, and young kids took turns breaking into the blocks to win prizes.

Hawks fans told KOMO News that they’re expecting a close Super Bowl game, but they’re still confident Seattle will come out on top.

“I think it’s going to be 27-24, Hawks,” Scheffler predicted.
