MILL CREEK, WA. – The Mill Creek community is invited to attend the summer’s biggest “Party in the Parks” event on Thursday June 27th from 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Mill Creek Sports Park (13903 North Creek Drive). This event will offer family-friendly fun while showcasing all that Mill Creek Sports Park has to offer. Entrance and activities are free, with food available for purchase from WiseGuy Italian Street Food and frozen treats from Yay Big Yay High Yay Ice Cream Truck.
“We are excited to bring the Kids Fun Run back to Mill Creek. We have 150 kids registered in three different age categories that will occur during the event. This free race for ages Kindergarten to 5th grade will be a great activity for our local kids and community,” said Scott Harder, Communications, Marketing, and Recreation Program Manager.
Yoga in the Center will be leading stretching sessions for all participants at 4:30 p.m. and race director Bobby Sorensen from the Movement Society will start the first race at 5:30 p.m., with encouragement provided by the Jackson High School cheerleaders.
Games and activities will be supplied by community sponsors JL Remodeling, Community Transit, Stellar Kids Dentistry, Chris Jones State Farm Insurance, Town & Country Markets, and Nothing Bundt Cakes. There will also be local organizations attending which include the Mill Creek YMCA, Kiwanis of Mill Creek, Let Me Run, Mill Creek Community Food Bank, and the Mill Creek Police Department & Citizens Patrol.
South County Fire will be hosting a Kids Fire Camp that will include a firetruck visit, relay races, firefighter challenge and more!
Limited parking will be available so please plan ahead. In addition to street parking, there will be parking along Trillium Drive (east of Bothell-Everett Hwy), Mill Creek Sports (13616 Bothell-Everett Hwy) and the vacant lot at 13716 Bothell Everett Hwy just north of the Mill Creek Sports Park.
