MILL CREEK — The Mill Creek community is gearing up for what organizers are calling the largest Seahawks giveaway event in the city’s history, with hundreds of free prizes and a Super Bowl celebration scheduled for this Saturday, February 7th, from noon to 4 p.m.

The free, family-friendly event will be held at Mill Creek Sports (13616 Bothell Everett Hwy) and features an impressive array of Seahawks-themed merchandise including hats, beanies, keychains, flags, and other exclusive gear — all available at no cost to attendees who register online.

The event is co-sponsored by Mill Creek Sports and Corey Ihler of Keller Williams North Sound, who is also the Publisher and owner of Mill Creek View. Ihler, a longtime supporter of Mill Creek community initiatives through both his real estate work and newspaper ownership, has partnered with Mill Creek Sports to assemble hundreds of prizes and create what promises to be one of the area’s most memorable Super Bowl weekend celebrations.

“This is our way of bringing the community together and celebrating what makes Mill Creek special,” said Nicole Orozco, Co-Publisher of Mill Creek View. “The Seahawks represent more than just football to our region — they represent community, loyalty, and the 12th Man spirit that we see every day in Mill Creek.”

EVENT DETAILS:

The event promises more than just giveaways. The first 100 attendees will receive complimentary hotdogs, and bonus prizes will be announced live throughout the afternoon. Organizers describe the atmosphere as “high-energy” and designed to appeal to Seahawks fans of all ages.

“Mill Creek Sports and Corey Ihler have been cornerstones of our community, supporting local families and businesses for years. Their commitment to making this event free and accessible to everyone demonstrates their dedication to Mill Creek,” Orozco added.

Corey Ihler, who owns and publishes Mill Creek View while also working as a real estate professional with Keller Williams North Sound, emphasized the community aspect of the celebration. “We’re not just giving away prizes,” Ihler explained. “We’re creating a space where neighbors can come together, families can enjoy an afternoon out, and we can all share in the excitement of being part of the 12th Man.”

The timing of the event — coinciding with Super Bowl weekend — is intentional. While the Seahawks won’t be playing in this year’s championship game, organizers wanted to create a local celebration that honors the team’s significance to Pacific Northwest culture.

The event represents a unique partnership between Mill Creek Sports and Corey Ihler, who brings together his dual roles as Publisher/owner of Mill Creek View and real estate professional with Keller Williams North Sound. Both Mill Creek Sports, a family-owned business serving the area for years, and Ihler, who has deep roots in the region, share a commitment to community engagement.

“As someone who has lived in the areas surrounding Mill Creek my entire life, I see everyone as my neighbor,” said Ihler, who took ownership of Mill Creek View in late 2025. “This event is about bringing people together and celebrating what makes our community special. Mill Creek Sports has been an incredible partner in making this vision a reality.”

COMMUNITY SUPPORT MAKES IT POSSIBLE

The Seahawks Giveaway is made possible through the generous support of our event co-sponsors and Mill Creek View’s local advertising partners.

Event Co-Sponsors:

  • Mill Creek Sports — Providing hundreds of Seahawks prizes and hosting the event at their location (13616 Bothell Everett Hwy)
  • Corey Ihler, Keller Williams North Sound — Co-sponsoring the event and supporting Mill Creek community initiatives

Additional Supporting Advertisers Include: Louis Torres – Rock-n-Roll Realtor (RE/MAX), The Jewelry Source, NW Plus Credit Union, Senior Care Consultants, Adult Care Solutions, Quail Park of Lynnwood, Home Run Solutions, 360 Dental of Mill Creek, Stellar Kids Dentistry, Nova Orthodontics, Champit Cuisine of India, Garlic Jim’s Famous Gourmet Pizza, and dozens of other local businesses.

“When you support our local advertisers and sponsors, you’re supporting the events and journalism that keep our community connected,” noted Nicole Orozco, Co-Publisher of Mill Creek View.

Mill Creek View, the community’s hometown newspaper since 1991, continues the legacy established by founder Fred Fillbrook, who created the publication before Mill Creek was even incorporated as a city. The paper reaches approximately 6,000 homes monthly and is delivered by local youth carriers — one of the few remaining newspapers in Washington state to maintain this traditional delivery model.

For families planning to attend, organizers recommend arriving early for the best selection of prizes and to ensure availability of the free hotdogs. The event operates on a first-come, first-served basis, though registration through the Facebook event page guarantees entry and provides bonus prize opportunities.

The Mill Creek Sports parking lot will be transformed into a Seahawks-themed celebration zone, complete with decorations in the team’s signature navy blue and action green colors. While weather forecasts suggest typical February Pacific Northwest conditions, the event will proceed rain or shine.

“This is Mill Creek,” Ihler said with a laugh. “We know how to celebrate in any weather. Besides, true 12s don’t let a little rain stop them.”
